The RIT Home Software Portal is a website that provides easy access to free software provided by both RIT and your college or department. The MSDNAA Dreamspark portal is included. To take advantage of this portal, simply visit homeuse.rit.edu and sign in with your RIT Computer Account.

Several departments are sharing a campus license for Minitab and Minitab Express to be used on RIT-owned computers. Minitab is a Windows-only application where as Minitab Express is available for Windows and Mac. To get Minitab or Minitab Express for your RIT Owned computer, please contact your Systems Administrator. Minitab and Minitab Express are also available for use by all current students and faculty on their personal computer for academic purposes. mrDiffusion is our diffusion imaging analysis and visualization package. It is available as part of our open-source and freely distributed VISTASOFT package. The code is distributed as a nightly snapshot from our SVN repository. That means that the above link always points to the most current version of the software. Some parts of mrDiffusion also depend on routines in SPM (SPM2 or SPM5), so you should download that as well. mrDiffusion is useful for processing diffusion-weighted data and measuring and visualizing fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, axial and radial diffusivity, and RGB fiber direction maps. It is also useful for performing deterministic tractography. It will soon support probabilistic tractography through the ContTrack tools that Anthony Sherbony is developing. It is possible to use events while still having a MATLAB like environment by using the MATLAB engine library in C. In MathWorks' own words: "The MATLAB engine library contains routines that allow you to call MATLAB software from your own programs, thereby employing MATLAB as a computation engine..."[1] This allows you to write a C program that uses normal C syntax structure but calls MATLAB to take care of the complex math algorithms that you do not want to implement in C.
